Laney PMU Studio

Aftercare

Two days of care, and then it settles on its own.

Laney explains all of this in the room and hands it to you on a card, and the studio sends it afterwards as a PDF, so none of it depends on remembering it.

The first 48 hours

Four rules, for two days.

A flat lay on a round table: a small tube of protective cream, a folded aftercare card, and two cotton pads.

WHAT YOU TAKE HOME

AFTERCARE, ILLUSTRATED

The needle opens the skin, so the first two days are about keeping the area covered and undisturbed while the surface closes. That is what the cream is for, and it is why heat and sweat are ruled out for 48 hours: a sauna and a hard training session both work against a surface that has not finished closing.

The same aftercare arrives as a PDF, so the card is not the only copy of it.

What to expect

The colour looks strongest at first, and then it softens.

For the first days the colour reads darker and sharper than it will end up. That is normal, and it is not the result.

There is some light flaking through the days that follow, it settles on its own, and nothing needs to be done to it. Leaving it alone is the reason for the fourth rule above.

The true colour arrives around week six. That is the colour you keep, and it is the only stage this studio counts as a result, because it is the one you live with.

If anything about the healing worries you, that is a question for medical care first, and then a message to the studio, answered in writing.

After healing

The touch up at three months, and the years after it.

The touch up is booked at three months, once the colour has fully settled and anything that healed lighter than planned can be seen. It is filled in then. The cost of the touch up is confirmed at consultation, before any date is held.

After that touch up the work is worn for two to three years. This is semi-permanent makeup: over those years the colour softens, and it can be refreshed whenever it starts to read too light. Every refresh keeps the shape that was approved in the mirror.

The shape does not drift and does not change on its own. Changing a shape is a different piece of work, because existing pigment has to be removed before a new shape can be drawn.

Before you book

Semi-permanent makeup is not for everyone.

The contraindications are published in full, and they are worth reading before a date is held.
